01 — GETTING STARTED
Getting Started with WoW Mover
WoW Mover helps you create and maintain additional World of Warcraft installations from an existing installation on your computer.
Extract the Application
Extract the downloaded ZIP file to a folder on your computer, then launch MohaveWoWMover.exe.
Select Your Source Folder
Select the World of Warcraft installation that WoW Mover should use as the source for your additional installations.
Choose Your Destinations
Select one or more destination folders where WoW Mover should create or update your additional World of Warcraft installations.
Start the Copy
Review your source, destinations, and copy options, then start the copy process. WoW Mover will display progress and destination status while it works.
02 — SOURCE & DESTINATIONS
Choose where your installations come from and go.
WoW Mover uses one existing World of Warcraft installation as the source and copies its files to one or more destination folders that you choose.
Select the Source Installation
Use Browse next to Source Installation and select the main World of Warcraft folder. WoW Mover checks the selected folder to make sure it contains a valid installation before copying.
Select a Destination Folder
Use Browse on a destination row to choose where that copy of World of Warcraft should be stored. Each enabled destination is handled separately.
Enable or Skip Destinations
Select Use this folder for destinations you want included in the copy. Select Skip for any destination that should not be processed during the current copy.
Use Multiple Destinations
More than one destination can be enabled, allowing WoW Mover to maintain multiple World of Warcraft installations from the same source.
Existing Files
Before starting the copy, choose whether WoW Mover should skip files that already exist at the destination or overwrite them with files from the source.
03 — COPY OPTIONS
Control exactly what WoW Mover copies.
Copy Options let you decide whether personal game data should be included and how WoW Mover should handle files that already exist at a destination.
Copy AddOns
Enable Copy AddOns (Interface) to include the _retail_\Interface\AddOns folder from the source installation. The option is available when WoW Mover detects an AddOns folder in the source.
Copy WTF Settings
Enable Copy WTF (Settings) to include the _retail_\WTF folder. This copies the settings and configuration data stored in that folder to the selected destinations.
Entire Source Folder
Enable Entire Source Folder (Includes Everything) when you want the complete source installation copied. When this option is selected, the individual AddOns and WTF choices are no longer needed because those folders are included automatically.
Existing Files
Skip existing leaves files already present at the destination untouched. Overwrite existing replaces existing destination files with the corresponding files from the source.
Advanced Options
Advanced Options provides additional file-handling controls. You can preserve file timestamps, preserve file attributes, and verify copied files after they are written.
Verify Copied Files
File verification checks copied files for integrity after writing. This provides an additional validation step but can significantly increase the total copy time.
04 — STATUS & PROGRESS
Follow each destination while WoW Mover works.
WoW Mover displays copy progress and destination-specific status information so you can see what is happening during the copy process and identify destinations that need attention.
Copying
While a destination is being processed, WoW Mover displays its active copying status along with the current copy progress.
Complete
A completed destination is marked with a green check, indicating that its copy operation finished successfully.
Warning
A yellow warning indicator means the destination completed with a condition that may require your attention. Review the displayed status information before using the destination.
Failed
A red failure indicator means WoW Mover was unable to complete the destination successfully. Check the destination path, available disk space, file access, and the reported error before trying again.
Locked
A locked status indicates that WoW Mover cannot currently work with the destination as required. Make sure World of Warcraft and other applications using files in that location are closed before trying the copy again.
05 — TROUBLESHOOTING
Common problems and what to check.
Most WoW Mover problems can be resolved by checking the selected folders, available storage, file access, and applications that may be using World of Warcraft files.
Source Installation Is Not Accepted
Make sure you selected the main World of Warcraft installation folder. WoW Mover validates the source and expects a recognizable installation containing the required game folders and executable files.
Destination Cannot Be Used
Confirm that the destination path is available and that Windows allows WoW Mover to create and modify files there. Also check that the destination drive has enough free space for the selected copy.
Files Are In Use
Close World of Warcraft, Battle.net, and any other application that may be actively using files involved in the copy, then try the operation again.
Copy Takes Longer Than Expected
Copy time depends on the amount of data selected, the speed of the source and destination drives, and the selected Advanced Options. File verification can significantly increase the total copy time.
Existing Files Are Not Changing
Check the Existing Files option. When Skip existing is selected, files already present at the destination are intentionally left untouched. Select Overwrite existing when those files should be replaced.
06 — UPDATES
Keep WoW Mover up to date.
WoW Mover uses the Mohave Technologies Update Platform to check for new application releases and determine when a newer version is available.
Update Checks
WoW Mover can check the Mohave Update Platform for the latest release available for its configured update channel.
Stable Releases
Stable is the normal release channel and is intended for versions that are ready for regular use.
Downloading an Update
When a newer version is available, WoW Mover uses release information supplied by the Mohave Update Platform to direct you to the appropriate update package.
Required Updates
The Mohave Update Platform supports releases that can be marked as mandatory. When a required update is published, WoW Mover can identify that requirement from the release information supplied by the service.
